Green Investing Books

Came across an article in the Seattle Times this past weekend titled “How to become a green investor” by Chuck Myers.

The green revolution has fueled a strong interest in investment opportunities in a variety of areas, particularly in renewable energy. A number of books offer insights and information about the expanding green investment area. Here are a few:

• “Investing in a Sustainable World: Why Green Is the New Color of Money on Wall Street” by Matthew J. Kiernan; Amacom, 2008 ($27.95). Explores the green investing trend.

• “Investing in Renewable Energy: Making Money on Green Chip Stocks” by Jeff Siegel; Wiley, 2008 ($27.95). Focuses on investment opportunities and profiting in renewable-energy stocks.

• “Billion Dollar Green: Profits from the Eco Revolution” by Tobin Smith; Wiley, 2008 ($27.95). Overview of green-investing strategies and market opportunities.

• “Green Investing: A Guide to Making Money Through Environment-Friendly Stocks” by Jack Uldrich; Adams Media, 2008 ($14.95). Identifies green stocks and green companies in a range of renewable-energy fields.

I will try and check out some of these books. Need to go sign up for the local library or head to the book store.

Followup to the Coastal Cleanup

Here is a picture of the garbage that Lizzy and I cleaned up along Second Beach. There was an entire truck full of garbage by the end of the day.

Garbage from coastal cleanup.

Happy Earth Day!!!

What are your plans for Earth Day and what changes did you make for today?

Lizzy, my wife, and I are going to go to the coast this weekend  and do some clean up.

It’s all part of the Washington CoastSavers, http://www.coastsavers.org, who are setting this weekend up to be a big clean up weekend. We are going to be heading to Second Beach.

Things are just getting started.
